It could be a particular aspect you would like advice on, an area you would like to explore further or simply something you would just like to talk over with someone external to your particular circumstance or situation. The 'surgeries' and mentoring are for any level of leadership and 'Lending an ear to a leader' is more for Principal Leaders. They can be held online or via telephone and include a summary sent by email.

Initial meeting
Time spent with the Headteacher / Principal / Executive HT / Head of School / CEO to reflect on their previous year and discuss potential new objectives for the year ahead. (1/2 day)
A summary of the discussion, providing evaluative evidence for governors / trustees. Presenting fresh, draft objectives in line with: National Headteacher Standards / Principal expectations such as outlined by the Confederation of School Trusts, The Principles of Public Life (The Nolan Principles) and the individual school / academy improvement priorities.
Facilitation of a meeting between the responsible governors / trustees to discuss the written report (approximately two weeks after this has been shared). The meeting would then be joined by the Principal Leader to finalise outcomes.
Agreed paperwork is collated into a finalised report which will be submitted for checking before being shared with all involved.
Meeting with the Headteacher / Principal / Executive HT / Head of School / CEO.
Discussion about progress towards set objectives so far. Evidence of successes and areas needing further development or support. (Approximately 2 hours)
Presenting a summary of the discussion, external independent evaluation of progress towards objectives so far and any further development or support that could be provided for the Principal Leader.
Mid-year review commentary added to the original report and re-submitted for checking before being shared with all involved.
Whether in a Local Authority maintained setting or part of a wider Multi Academy Trust, it has become increasingly more difficult to liaise with other local colleagues. Without these opportunities to come together, leadership can become an unnecessarily lonely place to be. Meeting up enables professional relationships to develop, ideas and resources to be made available and successes or challenges to be shared.
Cluster meetings for groups of Headteachers / Principals / Executive Headteachers / Heads of School or Deputy / Assistant Headteachers, Vice Principals or Curriculum Leaders.
Time is precious when you are responsible for an educational setting. Using this service means that your leaders can benefit from all the experiences that meeting as a local cluster can offer, whilst not needing to attend yourself to facilitate. I have significant experience of chairing and clerking professional meetings.
